Email Settings and Mail Server Maintenance

Mail Server Maintenance

Please be aware that as part of our system maintenance, designed to ensure continuous high quality service, SPAM, Deleted Items and Bad Email messages more than 45 days old are removed from your mailbox on a daily basis.

SMTP Settings

Our Email server is configured to reduce the level of spam and virus out breaks, therefore we have configured it to work only with clients that have accounts with Habesha.net

SMTP Server Address

smtp.habesha.net or smtp.yourdomainname.com

Default TCP Port: 25

If the local ISP blocks port 25 for non local email address then port 45 can be used.

Outbound Authentication

All outbound email to our mail server must first authenticate. The outbound FROM email address must exist on the mail server. Therefore the Client must configure an email box in the Helm 4 control panel. The username and password to authenticate outbound email is the same as incoming POP 3. E.g. your email as the username and the password you created.

POP 3 Settings

POP 3 Server Address

pop.habesha.net or pop.yourdomainname.com

Default TCP Port: 110

IMAP Settings

IMAP Server Address

Pop.habesha.net or pop.yourdomainname.com

Default TCP Port: 143

Reminder

For the purpose of marketing please contact Habesha.net before attempting large email campaigns. If you require your own internal server to forward mail to our mail server please again contact us first.

Unsolicited email campaigns that are considered as spam are not allowed to be sent through our mail server and may result in the hosting account being disabled. Please read our AUP for further details.
